CRA registration support for CROS users in Trinidad and Tobago
The Companies Registry Online System (CROS) is the electronic filing platform used for business-name registrations, company incorporations, annual returns and other Registry services. Before an individual can transact in CROS, the Companies Registry requires that person to create a Companies Registry Account, commonly called a CRA.
That makes the CRA more than a username. The Registry states that information stored in the CRA is used to auto-populate filing fields and that the user's CRA Identity PIN is used in electronic transactions. For company formation, the Registry specifically requires the people engaged in forming the company—including directors and incorporators—to have CRAs.
One applicant equals one seat. If a company has three people who each need a new CRA, select three CRA seats at checkout.
What the official CRA application asks for
Personal particulars
Full legal name, any former name, date of birth, gender, occupation, nationality at birth and current nationality.
Contact and address
Email address, current residential address and postal address. The application can also ask about companies and businesses with which the applicant is associated.
Birth record
A birth certificate is required. Trinidad and Tobago nationals are also asked for the Birth Certificate PIN used to identify the birth record.
Identity evidence
The Registry requires photo-identification evidence and a headshot in which one submitted photo ID is held beside the applicant's face so the person and identification can be verified.
The CRA headshot is a frequent source of avoidable delays
The image is not meant to be a normal passport-style portrait. The Companies Registry requires a headshot that clearly shows the applicant with one of the submitted photo identification documents held beside the face.
