The Registry launched CROS in 2023 and lists the online services it provides, including name reservation, business registration, incorporation and annual returns.
The CRA is the individual Registry account used to access those services.
Private registration sites are service providers
The Registrar General has published a public advisory noting that private online sites and agents offer CROS registration and filing services.
That assistance is separate from the Registry itself. Check the provider’s identity, fees, scope and privacy practices before sharing personal documents.
Separate government fees from professional fees
The Registry states that there is no government fee for a CRA application. Other Registry filings, such as name reservation or incorporation, have their own published government fees.
