The checklist below is for planning. The final filing should follow the current Companies Registry instructions and the company’s own legal and ownership arrangements.
Set up the required CRA accounts
People who must participate in the formation process need the appropriate Companies Registry Accounts. Do not wait until the name is approved to discover that a director cannot complete a required approval.
Check names and identity details for consistency before starting the filing.
Choose and reserve the company name
Run a preliminary search, then submit the official company-name reservation. The Registry currently publishes a TT$25 fee and a three-working-day processing target for name reservation.
An approved company name is currently reserved for 45 days.
Prepare the director and secretary information
A private profit company must meet the current director requirements under the Companies Act. Decide who will hold the required roles and make sure the people understand the continuing filing responsibilities.
Keep the contact and address details that will be entered in CROS ready.
Plan the first post-incorporation tasks
After incorporation, keep the company records, monitor annual-return and beneficial-ownership obligations and complete any BIR, PAYE, NIS, banking or licensing steps that apply.
Build those tasks into the startup plan instead of treating incorporation as the end of setup.
