At a glance

BizReg charges TTD $1,500 for standard company by-laws preparation. That is a professional-service price, not a government filing fee. The Companies Registry states that every company must have by-laws, but the document is kept by the company rather than filed with the Registrar.

There is no Companies Registry filing fee for the by-laws themselves

The Companies Registry FAQ says by-laws are not filed with the Registrar of Companies. The company prepares and keeps them at its registered office. That means a fee quoted by BizReg or another provider is payment for preparation, review, organisation and service—not a statutory filing charge.

Why prices vary so much

Search results in Trinidad and Tobago show by-laws offered in three main ways: as a standalone service, as one item inside a wider incorporation package, or as a generic document bundled with other business-readiness items. Those offers are not automatically equivalent.

Before comparing prices, check whether the provider is preparing a document around the company's actual name, directors, officers, members/shareholders and governance arrangements, or supplying a generic document intended for later completion.

BizReg Company By-Laws Preparation: TTD $1,500

The BizReg service uses a company-specific post-payment intake to collect the registered company name, registration number, registered office, directors, officers, shareholders or members, shareholdings and practical governance information.

The standard scope is for ordinary company governance. Complex investor rights, multiple special share classes, founder vesting, succession terms, deadlock mechanisms and detailed shareholder arrangements may need bespoke legal drafting or review.

What should you compare before choosing a service?

  • Is the quoted amount a standalone by-laws price or a bundle?
  • Is the document company-specific or generic?
  • What company information is collected before preparation?
  • Does the provider distinguish Articles from by-laws?
  • Does the scope identify when a lawyer should review complex provisions?
  • Will the completed document be suitable for the company's internal records?

Do not confuse price with the importance of the document

By-laws can govern directors' and members' meetings, appointment and duties of officers and other internal procedures. A low-cost generic document may still require careful review if the company's Articles or ownership structure contain provisions that do not fit the template.
