If you plan to operate as an individual under a business name, the Companies Registry uses the business-name registration process. If you want a separate company, you use the profit-company incorporation process.
Create a CRA, choose and reserve the business name, complete the registration in CROS, pay the current TT$220 registration fee, then complete the signed-document step for the certificate.
Every person involved in formation must have the required CRA. The proposed company name is reserved through CROS. The current name reservation fee is TT$25. The approved reservation lasts 45 days. The incorporation filing is then submitted through CROS and the Registry currently lists a TT$520 incorporation fee.
Name conflicts, incomplete information, missing approvals, expired reservations and unresolved Registry queries can all interrupt the process. Preparing the sequence before filing is usually more efficient than correcting preventable mistakes afterward.
